Wen Jiabao Arrives in Tajikistan for Official Visit and SCO Prime Ministers' Meeting

On the evening of November 24, local time, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, for an official visit and the ninth prime ministers' meeting of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Tajik Prime Minister Akil Akilov held a welcoming ceremony for Wen’s official visit at the airport. Senior officials from the Tajik government, Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Fan Xianrong and other staff of the embassy greeted Wen at the airport.

Wen flew to Tajikistan after paying an official visit to Russia and attending the 15th regular meeting between Chinese and Russian prime ministers.

Upon leaving Moscow, the Russian government held a grand farewell ceremony for Wen. Vice Premier Wang Qishan, State Councilor Liu Yandong, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui as well as senior officials from the Russian government saw Wen off at the airport.
