China and Malaysia enjoy long-standing traditional friendship, which could be traced back to the end of Xi Han Dynasty (1 Century BC).  15 Century AD, Zheng He, the famous navigator of Ming Dynasty made 7 trips to the western seas and stopped over every trip at Malacca.  Since the middle of 19^th century, a large number of Chinese have immigrated to the Malay Peninsular and Kalimantan Island from their hometowns in southern provinces of China.

China and Malaysia established diplomatic relationship on 31^st May, 1974.  In recent years, the two countries have witnessed frequent high-level visits, enforced mutual political trust, expanding economic interactions, vibrant cultural exchanges and smooth cooperation in various fields.  The China-Malaysia relation is in its best period in history.  China is committed to the diplomatic guideline of "building good-neighborly relationships and partnerships with China's neighbors" and will go on implementing the foreign policy of "securing an amicable, tranquil and prosperous neighborhood".  We attach great importance to the friendship and cooperation with Malaysia and would like to build a harmonious world with Malaysia.
