Ambassador Chai Xi Visited Sarawak

Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Mr. Chai Xi and his spouse Mme. Zhang Rufen visited Sarawak State, Malaysia, from 19th to 23rd November 2010, accompanied by Chinese Consul-General in Kuching Mr. Xie Fugeng.

During his visit, H.E. Chai Xi made a courtesy call on the State Governor, Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Muhammad Salahuddin, and met with Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. George Chan Hong Nam. They exchanged views on economic cooperation between Sarawak and China, and projects in Sarawak funded by the Chinese enterprises.

H.E. Chai Xi was also present at the Welcome Dinner hosted by the local Chinese Community and the Dinner Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the World Federation of Fuzhou Associations. In his speeches, H.E. Chai Xi paid high tribute to the fact that overseas Chinese in Malaysia had made a great contribution to promote mutual friendship between China and Malaysia.

H.E. Chai Xi had several meetings with Chinese entrepreneurs and leaders of local Chinese Community as well.
