Premier Wen Jiabao Meets with King of Malaysia Sirajuddin

On December 15, 2005, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council met with King of Malaysia Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin in Kuala Lumpur.

Wen said that in recent years, bilateral relations have always enjoyed sound momentum and the cooperation in various areas has scored remarkable achievements, with which China is satisfied.

Wen indicated that currently, both countries are committing to advancing strategic cooperation and bilateral relations have entered a new stage of all-round development. Bilateral relations enjoy a solid political basis and the cooperation in various areas has huge potential. China would like to continue keeping close coordination with Malaysia to actively implement the consensus reached between both sides and jointly advance exchanges and cooperation in various areas.

Sirajuddin noted that bilateral relations have been closer with rapid bilateral trade growth and the exchanges and cooperation in other areas have also been steadily expanded. It is believed that the two-way tourism and the number of overseas students studying in each other will further increase. Malaysia attaches great importance to relations with China and hopes that both sides will continuously expand cooperation and bring benefits to the two peoples.
